As you likely already know, a "bullet hell" game, also known as a "danmaku" game (a Japanese term that translates to "barrage" or "bullet curtain") is traditionally a subgenre of shoot 'em ups characterized by their intense gameplay, where the screen is filled with a large number of projectiles that players must dodge while simultaneously attempting to defeat enemies. However, many PS5 bullet hell games can be categorized into other genres, including third-person shooters (Returnal), Metroidvanias (Touhou Luna Nights) and run and gun platformers (Cuphead).
