Vote up the off-the-chain meals you would definitely order from these chains.
Though it was campaigned for over many years, it wasn't until 2018 that the FDA enacted a law requiring US restaurant chains with more than 20 locations to list their calories on their menu. The issue has been hotly debated - the pro-calorie side holds that consumers deserve the right to know more about the nutritional information of their food, and that listing calories may help people make healthier, more informed choices about what they eat.
On the opposing side, it's been argued that calorie listings wrongly conflate caloric value with nutritional value - just because something is low in calories doesn't mean it's necessarily healthier than a menu item with higher calories. Other people may just not want to know.
For better or worse, our favorite US chains must now provide the calorie information on dishes - both old fan favorites and new, trendy takes. Here's the highest calorie option at each chain - which one's making your mouth water?

Posted by Cracker Barrel Old Country Store on Sunday, May 30, 2021Calories: 2075 - 3,555, dependent on sides and bread selected
What You Get: Four pieces of bone-in fried chicken with honey, served with choice of two Country Sides, two buttermilk biscuits or corn muffins, and butter. Steamed broccoli and biscuits are the lower calorie choices. Meanwhile, if one ordered the chicken and chose the premium side of pancakes with blueberry syrup for both sides, along with two corn muffins and butter, they'd presumably have the top calorie contender on this list.

Posted by Outback Steakhouse - National on Friday, June 4, 2021Calories: 2,620
What You Get: French fries topped with melted Monterey Jack, Cheddar, and chopped bacon with homemade ranch dressing.
Honorable Mention: As steak is the main game at Outback, there is a legendarily large 28 oz Prime Rib on some menus that comes in at 2,660, but availability appears limited. They also list a full rack of ribs at 2,940 on their nutritional menu, but it remains unclear what sides this does or does not account for.
