The Most Brutal Deaths in Harry Potter

Fred Weasley was one of Ron's brothers and a member of Dumbledore's Army. He met his end in an explosion outside the Room of Requirement during the Battle of Hogwarts.

Even worse, he left behind his twin brother, George, who never fully recovered from the loss.

Dobby was an elf who served the Malfoy family. Despite his obligations to the family and the Dark Wizards, Dobby warned Harry about the plan to reopen the Chamber of Secrets. Harry eventually tricked the Malfoys into freeing Dobby.

While helping Harry and his friends to safety, Dobby was critically wounded by a knife thrown by Bellatrix Lestrange. He passed in Harry's arms, saying his final words: "Harry Potter."

A professor at Hogwarts, Remus Lupin was also very close friends with Sirius Black and James Potter. As a child, he was cursed with being a werewolf. During his life, he fought through the first and second Wizarding Wars.

His wife met her end at Belatrix Lestrange's hand during the Battle of Hogwarts. Moments later, a Death Eater sent him to join her.

Sirius Black was close friends with Harry's dad, James Potter. He was also Harry's godfather and developed a fatherly bond with the wizard over the years. He was a member of the Order of the Phoenix and joined in on the fight against Voldemort.

Black was cursed by Bellatrix Lestrange and then fell into the Veil.

Hedwig was Harry's owl. She was with him from the very first moment he entered Hogwarts and remained loyal to him until her final flight.

She was hit by a Killing Curse during Harry's flight from Privet Drive.

Nymphadora Tonks was madly in love with Remus Lupin. For a while, Lupin refused to give in to his feelings. Eventually, the pair got together and married. After Nymphadora gave birth to their first child, she was slain by her aunt Bellatrix Lestrange in the Battle of Hogwarts.
